He graduated a star player from Flowing Wells High School in Tucson, AZ in spring 2005. Where he acheived varsity letters in basketball 3yrs, and track/field 3yrs.

In the fall of 2005 he enrolled at the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, IA majoring in business accounting. He earned a roster spot for the NCAA Division III Spartans under then head coach, Marty McDermot. His ability to defend both guard positions was key to his playing time. Having trouble transitioning into the student athlete role at the college level (although his grades were superior, it was just difficult to keep them up as the season prgressed, so a decision was made) he decided to move back to Tucson and concentrate on his studies.

In spring 2006 he enrolled at Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ. Due to his reputation as a high school basketball standout in Tucson, he was invited on two different occasions to tryout for the mens basketball team at Pima CC. However, he chose to make academics his first priority.

During his years at Pima CC, he played in the Tucson Summer Pro-Am Basketball League from 2008-2010, with he and his team winning the championship twice.

He continues to train, run and condition his athletic abilities as well as practice and improve his basketball skills.

He intensely works out on his own and with his close friend, NBDL and former Japanese professional basketball player, Chris Ayer.
