Biography:
Born July 11, 1978 in Brooklyn , New York. Named after his late great grandfather Sam Sr. to continue a legacy. Samuel Deadwyler the 3rd is the son of former Central State University college player Sam Deadwyler Jr. In 1973, after ending his career at Central State University, the elder Deadwyler and Mother then pursued federal jobs to support their son and raised him alongside his athletic family. Sam the 3rd was an young avid player of football, basketball and boxing. Samuel attended Sarah. J. Hale High School in 1992 to join the the Sarah. J. Hawks basketball team his junior year of high school.
The Hawks reached the semi-finals boys B division championship in 1994. With an eye on the NBA, he continued to work more and more on his god given talent. In 1999, Samuel attended New York City Technical college in 1999 an was named the CUNYAC's 2000 Rookie of the Year . Top Rookie freshman guard Sam Deadwyler was joined by former University of Maryland and Knicks star Len Elmore to join his achievement at the awards banquet. Leading the Atlantic Division 1st in scoring in his freshman year he was named Honorable Mentioned by CUNYAC and MVP by New York City Tech. He was awarded a member by the Mount Saint Marys College 2000 All Tournament Team scoring a career of high 37 points against a Westfield State University. In 2002 , The explosive sophomore topped his career high with a Conference season-high 41 points and 14 rebounds pouring it on against Medgar Evers College leading the Yellowjackets to the impressive road league victory. Deadwyler shot 12-14 (.857) from the field and 9-9 from the line. 8th in in scoring in the Atlantic Division his sophomore year to again become MVP and a First team All-Star.
After Deadwylers two years at New york City Tech. He took time off to support his young daughter but maintained to continue his academics at Medgar Evers College in 2006. He continued to play tournament basketball throughout New York City. In 2008 , Deadwyler found a new home with the Texas Wranglers joining Mr. Ozzie Denson of the U.B.L. ( United Basketball League ) professional Basketball League in Dallas, Texas .
In 2011, Deadwyler joined New York Alumni Sports teaming up with St Peter's College Alumni . St. Peter’s College Alumni came in as the clear underdog to this matchup, but let it be known that they came to win and won’t be backed down. Sam Deadwyler, must’ve had a similar conversation with Derrick Rose, because Sam was flying through the defense all season averaging at least 20 points per game and topped the playoffs averaging 30 points a game . Winning his conference finals with a strong 35 points as the player of the game. Deadwyler is the defined definition of the truth.
