Upon leaving Tri-Cities High School in Atlanta Georgia, Jonathan averaged 18 pts 12 rebounds per game leading them to a 27-2 season and a regular season & region championship. He later signed with the AAMU Bulldogs under Vann L. Pettaway. In High School Jonathan displayed a wide-range of skills, natural talent, and passion for the game. This allowed him to excel in many ways, and at any given position his HS coach desired him to play. In HS standing at 6’4 207lbs (being the tallest player on his team, but the shortest player at his position in conference), he was deemed one of the more dominant forces to be reckoned with. His respect for the game and his coaches system lead him to develop more soundly at the power forward/center position rather than his innate position, small forward. Despite his disadvantages in size & stature he quickly became known for his ability to outsmart, quick, & over power his opponent to score and defend in the post. His athleticism, intellect, and tenacity toward every aspect of the game got him noticed as one of the top post players in Atlanta. These same attributes were noticed as he made his transition from high school to college where he encountered a coach with a similar coaching philosophy: fitting player to program rather than shaping player to innate abilities. Despite Jonathans desire to return to his natural position small forward, he continued in the desires of his coaches to progress in the power forward position, advancing in size, strength, move set, athleticism, agility, and intellect, as well as cultivating his ability to put the ball on the floor, penetrate, create, and shoot. Jonathan maintained at His position overcoming many adversities year after year, on and off the court. His time at A&M has been one of constant learning, development and character building. Not accomplishing all of his desired goal has added fuel to his fire and passion to his desire to be great, reach his full capacity in basketball and athletic ability and impact the world with his God given talent in which he hope to fulfill in the near future.
