PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

BASKETBALL CONNECTION, Colorado Springs, CO, 80909 USA 1990-2009
President / Athletic Director / Head Coach
Planned and executed high-impact international basketball projects from the ground up, including running try-out camps and building franchises, teams, clinics and camps for top-caliber players.

Travel extensively throughout the world to cultivate relationships, generate support and provide hands-on leadership and coaching. Educated and trained coaches through self-designed workshops. Wrote articles. Spoke at international clinic tours as FIBA Expert (one of 10 Americans with this credential), consultant and game-winning coach.

Selected accomplishments:
• Provided energized, knowledgeable scouting and networking support that resulted in numerous professional contracts worldwide for US players.
• Developed the USBL Nebraska Cranes franchise and team in five weeks, and served as Head Coach and General Manager, effectively propelling the team to win the USBL Championship in its second year.
• Coached and managed orientation activities of the United States Basketball Academy for the Chinese CBA Draft Camp (the 2006 event was held in Oregon). Invited an NBA referee, officials from South Korea and scouts from Australia, Canada, Puerto Rico and the USA.
• Delivered innovative consulting services to AAPBA, ABA, CBA, IBL, NBDL and USBL teams.
• Led professional try-out camps in California and Louisiana, and organized try-outs for CBA teams in Atlanta, Houston and Los Angeles.
• Coordinated the BC 20-Player Tour to China with Sports Ambassadors and Basketball Amigos.



UNIVERSITY OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, Trinidad, 2008-

Trinidad & Tobago National Men’s Basketball Coach / UTT Men’s Basketball Coach/Professor
Promote the vision and objectives of the Academy of Sports and Leisure High Performance as hands-on coach and instructor for the program. Leverage prior experience as a player, scout, FIBA expert, consultant and college / professional coach to help students overcome obstacles and achieve superior personal and team results.

• Coached the team to realize a record-breaking first season (18-4).
• Proactively created and directed the UTT Shooting Clinic to increase the athleticism and performance of key players.

BCI Edge China Tour, Head Coach (2008)

• Guided the team in a tour through China, playing national and CBA teams.
• Selected to coach the BCI Edge team in the Jones Cup and the Chinese Tour of 2009.
Team Unity, Head Coach (2007)
• Successfully coached players at the 4th Annual Qatar Friendship Games.
USA Passing Lane Sports Team and BCI Edge Team, Head Coach (Summer 2005)
• Led several former NBA players (and others) in winning the William Jones Cup (held in Taiwan) against nine national teams from Australia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Philippines, Qatar and Russia (9-0).
Global Hoops Summit, Coach (Summer 2005)
• Coached well-known players, including Sun Ming Ming (from China) in this global event (held in Las Vegas, NV). Played against NBDL All-Stars, BCI Edge and national teams from China, Korea, Nigeria and Qatar.

PROFESSIONAL TEAMS / USA MINOR LEAGUE

NBA Summer League, Scout (2006)

• Traveled across Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington to meet NBA teams. Also attended NBA Summer League, USBL and IBL games.
USBL Nebraska Cranes, Head Coach and General Manager (Spring 2005)
• Built the franchise and team within a swift, five-week period. Broke all records for team wins, and established groundwork that allowed the team to win the USBL Championship in 2006.
• Selected to serve as USBL Midwest Expansion Coordinator.


IBA Billings Rimrockers, Head Coach and Athletic Director (1999-2002)

• Expertly balanced coaching and leadership responsibilities, leading the team to surpass all prior records and perform 26-14 during the season. Coached NBA player Oscar Torres.

Mexico – LNPB San Luis Potosi, Coach (2007)

• Appointed as replacement coach late in the season. Assisted in steering the team to the play-offs.
China – CBA Henan Dragons, Coach (2005-2006)
• Pushed the newly formed CBA franchise to break home-venue win records, despite having only one import player.
Taiwan – Hung Kuo Elephants, Coach (1996-1997)
• Coached two former NBA players and other highly focused team members in a winning season (28-10).
Puerto Rico – Isabela Basketball Team, Coach (1986)
• Led the Superior League team to rank 2nd in the first half of the season.
Venezuela – Bravos de Gunare, Coach ( 1984 )
• Coordinated practices and games, coaching NBA and other players such as Carl Herrera and Billy Reid.

Trinidad and Tobago National Basketball Team, Men’s National Coach
( Summer 2009)

• Alternate late entry to the Caribbean Championship. Group A Champions 3-0.Beat Champion Jamaica. Best tournament record in 20 years. Fourth Place Finish
Panamanian National Basketball Team, Men’s National Coach (Summer 1999)
• Won the Copa Latina (versus Cuba, Uruguay and Venezuela). Played the Pre-Olympic Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
• Provided athletic direction and motivation to NBA hopeful, Mike Hicks, and NCAA Division II Player of the Year, Antonio Garcia.
Qatar National Basketball Team, Men’s National Coach, Senior and Junior Teams (1997-1998)
• Competed in the Pan Arabic Games (touring throughout Egypt, Greece and Lebanon).
• Recognized as Gulf Junior Champions (16-1).
Mexican National Basketball Team, Women’s National Coach, Men and Women’s Junior Teams (1990)
• Toured Europe and played USA NCAA Division I teams.
• Coordinated the Pert Plus Classic with AIA-USA, Canada, Cuba, Mexico and Russia.
Guatemalan National Basketball Team, Men’s and Women’s National Coach ( 1988)
• Skillfully prepared men’s and women’s teams to compete in the Central American Games.

• Adams State, NCAA Division II (D-II) – Hosted the first NCAA play-off game. Achieved the 2nd highest number of NCAA wins at the school.
• Azusa Pacific University, NAIA Division I (D-I) – Ranked 2nd place in the International Tournament of the Americas in Puerto Rico. Ranked nationally
• Mayville State, NAIA D-II- League play offs every year
• Western Nebraska CC, NJCAA- League play-off every year.
• Northwest Nazarene, Currently NCAA D-II- Won over 60% of games. Nationally ranked
• Panhandle State University (PSU), Currently NCAA D-II – Ranked 5th in the nation (35-5).
