Tell Us your Story*:
Well I have been playing basketball since I can recall about the age of 4. I remember me and my older brother would play against each other in the hallway. I grew up in a neighborhood where there were mostly boys so I had to keep up. After playing with them and my dad everyday after school i developed enough skills to take on the boys. I started playing recreational basketball when i was 5 or 6. During that time i received trophies, went through undefeated seasons, and lead teams high scores. I played this until middle school where I started on Anson Middle School bearcats. We won the championship that year. While playing in middle school, there were already coaches from high school coming to see me play. During my 2 years of middle school i received MVP awards, and 2 bearcat awards. Once i got in high school i was a 9th grade starter on the varsity team. I led the point guard position. My greatest moment was in the 9th grade when i hit a buzzer beater from half court in the 4th, to take the team to OT. I played at Anson High until the end of my 10th grade yr. and moved to Salisbury, NC were i attended East Rowan. As soon as i moved up here I started participating in open gym until tryouts. I made the team and eventually worked my way up to a starting position on the team. However my basketball dreams were unfortunately cut short during my 11th grade year. I became pregnant so I had to put sports on hold. I was able to graduate early in January of 2009. I reiceved a couple of scholarships to play basketball but i couldnt accept. Once i graduated i attended a community college in Salisbury (RCCC). I completed a year there before transferring to my current online school AIU where i study criminal justice. I am expected to graduate with my associates degree on July 11. By then i will be 20 but wont be eligible to obtain a career in my desired field until age 21. In the mean time im focused on raising my daughter who will be turning 2 on March 31st! I just want an opportunity to do and take advantage in something i have loved and worked towards since i can remember. I have a good support system which is my family and i know they will support me in all my decisions. I am a hard working young girl determined and competitive, i love to win.If this post interested you please contact me ASAP thanks a lot.
