Demitrius Washington
by Demtrius Washington
(Killeen, Texas)
My name is Demitrius Washington and I attended Bard college in upstate New York this past year. I am currently a senior co-captain on the Men's basketball team and averaging:
3.05 3-pt mpg (41% on the year for three pointers); which put me in first in the conference in both categories, and 2.12spg.
I average 2.8 rpg and 2.32apg, with a 2.4:1 assist to turnover ratio. I finished my junior year ranked 18th in the nation in steals.
Finished my senior year ranked 30th in nation for 3-pt made per game, and 43rd for 3-pt percentage.
I hold the school record for most 3-pt made in a single season (76) and 3-pt made in a career (132). I have a highlight tape available.
"Demitrius, or D-Wash as he is more commonly known amongst his teammates, enters his senior season at Bard with aspirations of helping to lead the Raptors in whatever way he can.
This is his second season as a team captain and he has demonstrated an ability to lead both vocally and by example. D-Wash, who hails from Texas, went to high school in Hawaii and is doing his senior project on the digestive system of the red-back salamander, has demonstrated just as much diversity on the court as he has off of it.
D-Wash has played many roles for Coach Wood; from point guard to small forward to his current shooting guard position. Last year he led the Raptors in three-pointers, connecting on 44 long-range bombs, good for a team best 2.3 per game.
He also led the team in steals, with 2.7 per game. As a matter of fact, only seventeen players in the nation were more successful than he was in that category. Look for many contributions from him this season."
