Currently on NBA D League practice team. Good enough and ready to play.

(Albuquerque New Mexico USA)

My name is Sidney Hooper and I am 24yrs old, 6'3 195, from Andrews, Texas. Currently in Albuquerque nm on the NBA d league Albuquerque Thunderbirds practice team.

College: Sul Ross State; My junior yr I avg 22pts 4.5rebs 4assists and 2.5 steals per game. I was first team all conference, west division player of the year and 3rd team all south region.

My senior yr I avg. 22.5pts 4rebs 4assists and 2 steals a game. I was first team all conference, conference player of the yr, 1st team all south region and player of the yr in south region. I was texas player of the yr voted on by the texas basketball coaches and 3rd team all american my senior yr.

I am the winningest player to ever play at sul ross, number 1 in 3 pointers made and number 3 in scoring in sul ross history.

I played in Mexico for a couple months on the Soles and now am currently on the Thunderbirds practice team. I've been told many times that it is not going to be long before I get on the roster but there are so many politics and other things that come with the d league I'm not sure if it will be anytime soon.

I am good enough to be playing if not in the d leauge somewhere for sure and now. I've been playing since i was 3, I've got good knowledge of the game and good experience. I practice and play with great and competitive players everyday.

Hey Sid
by: Omar Pineda

Hey whats up Sidney. Hope your doing good. I really haven't talked much to anyone in a long time except for the guys that are here in El Paso. Anyway hope your doing good and just wanted to tell you to keep chasing your dream man. I know it may get tough at times but if you really want it you can make it happen. I know how it can suck because playing basketball on a higher level is all about politics and who you know and who knows you but keep trying man. Anyway take care and hope everything works out.

Question
by: John

How did you become a practice player? Through open tryouts? Do have a paid salary? I want to tryout for a D-League team . Thank you and have a good day.
