My name is Deanna Mayfield and I am from Pinole, CA. Most people do not know where that is. It is in the Bay Area, about a 20 minute drive from Oakland and San Francisco. I am currently attending UNLV, but before coming here I played basketball for 2 years at Solano Community College in Fairfield, CA. As a freshmen, I was the 2nd leading scorer with 7.8 ppg and helped lead my team to Bay Valley Conference title. As a sophomore, I lead my team in scoring with 14.3 ppg, 2.3 spg, 2nd in rebounding with 6.7 rpg and 3rd with 1.8 apg. I also made 1st Team All Conference and I was Kodak All American Honorable Mention (Huge Award. Nation Wide recognition. Only 3 girls were put on the list from C.A including myself. I made honorable mention, because the other two were Player of the Year and 1st team All American.) After finishing up with Solano, I decided to come here to UNLV and walk-on. I made the team, but decided that it was not the place for me. I love basketball and its my passion. My ultimate dream is to take my career to the next level and play baskeball overseas. I am a very hard worker and the coach at UNLV (Kathy Olivier) can vouch for me and tell you everything you need to know if you don't take my word for it. All I need is a chance to show scouts and coaches that my game level is there. I am a strong competitive guard who wants nothing more than to be the best at what she loves, which in this case is of course BASKETBALL!! Give me a chance and I won't let you down!
